911 Attack on America 26 images Created 11 Sep 2011

Nantucket saved my life. I was supposed to return home to California on September 11, 2001 at 9.20am EST. However, I discovered Nantucket over the weekend and decided to stay one more night and fly stand by on Tuesday afternoon.. Little did I know that a drive back to New York on Thursday morning would help me document a little bit of history and start the healing process of this terrible Attack on American Soil. ©2001ShellyCastellano Call 714-393-1800 for licensing.

  • Thursday: A couple that lives near Ground Zero is not allowed to cross over the next police barrier because of the unstable situation and the first responders are getting ready to clear the area for political visitors and to implode the American Express Building 7. This couple waited for over 24 hours hoping to get through to retrieve their pets. They would not speak directly to any more media, so I dont have names. <br />
